A Tribute to Felipe Razon
A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Friendship

Words from Les O’Hara
Three decades ago, I met Felipe Razon on the Broadway Armory project in Chicago. I was a roofing contractor, new to the trade; he was a master mason with a thriving business. From that first collaboration, we forged a friendship that shaped North Shore Brickwork, my family, and my life.
Felipe’s expertise was unmatched. His patience guided me through the intricacies of masonry, turning me from novice to confidant amateur. His love for billiards added joy to his life—he spent many late evenings spent over the pool table, laughing and competing. Together, we blended my business development strengths with his meticulous craftsmanship. For 20 years, North Shore Brickwork flourished, tackling Chicagoland’s most challenging projects, from towering commercial buildings to intricate historical residential designs. Each structure stands as a testament to our shared vision and Felipe’s artistry and management.
Felipe was more than a partner. His integrity, warmth, and humor made him family. He celebrated our successes, supported us through challenges, and left a lasting mark on everyone he met. North Shore was our shared family vehicle, built on trust and friendship.
Tragically, during COVID, Felipe’s weak heart gave way. His loss left a void, but his legacy endures in every brick we laid and the values we uphold at North Shore. I’m forever grateful for Felipe—his craftsmanship, his laughter, and the profound impact he had. He reminds us to cherish the partnerships that shape our lives.
Thank you, Felipe, for your friendship and for building something enduring with me.
Your spirit lives on.
